David Beckham’s esports team, Guild Esports, has signed a technical partnership with simulation racing hardware brand Fanatec.

Fanatec will supply Guild Esports with eight advanced sim racing rigs, related hardware, and regular technology updates as they are released, forming the centrepiece of a new simulator facility at Guild’s London headquarters.

In return, Fanatec will receive prominent branding around the simulator facility and on Guild’s social media.

This builds on Guild Esport’s growing portfolio of commercial partners which also includes Sky, Subway, Coca Cola, and Samsung.

Jasmine Skee, Chief Executive Officer of Guild Esports, said, “It’s an exciting time for Guild as we embark on our maiden venture into the world of sim racing, by leveraging our existing flagship site in London’s Shoreditch area at minimal capital cost, to generate incremental revenue streams for the company.

Three directors have left Premier League football club Everton board following fan outrage.

The Toffees announced on Monday 12th June that Chief Executive Officer Denise Barrett-Baxendale, Chief Finance and Strategy Officer Grant Ingles and Non-Executive Director Graeme Sharp have all left their boardroom roles.

Uncertainty now surround the club after it revealed that interim appointments will be made and Chairman Bill Kenwright’s future will be decided in the coming days.

Everton escaped relegation to the Championship on the final day of the season as they overcame Bournemouth 1-0, meaning the club will continue to play in English football’s top flight.

Despite survival, Everton fans have been outraged at the running of the club and displayed their anger through numerous protests asking for the board’s removal.

In a joint statement, the three departing Directors of Everton, said, “We have all been fully committed during our time here and are disappointed to have made the decision to leave Everton.

“We have worked tirelessly alongside our chairman in what has been a challenging period to deliver some of the most significant projects in Everton’s history – projects that will safeguard and sustain the commercial future of the club for generations to come.

“We are proud of the commercial growth projects progressed during our time on the board, including the construction of the club’s new waterfront stadium. This construction project – the largest currently on site in the UK – is progressing at pace.

“The club’s partnership portfolio has also been increased and diversified, reflected in record commercial partnerships and the expansion of our work internationally.”


OpenBet, a content, platform and service provider to the sports betting industry has officially acquired Neccton, an anti-money laundering (AML) and fraud detection technology business.

In a statement, UK-based OpenBet, part of the global Endeavor network, describes the acquisition as a move to ‘accelerate its player protection offerings and expand its support to the betting industry.’

OpenBet already serves an extensive roster of customers including FanDuel, DraftKings, Entain, Sky Bet, British Columbia Lottery Corporation, and Loto Québec.

The British Basketball Federation and Joymo have announced the launch of GB Basketball TV, a new direct-to-fan digital service.

The partnership between the British Basketball Federation and the streaming service provider will aim to grow the the sport in England, Scotland and Wales, by providing a digital content hub that is set to feature live match streams, highlights, short and long format video features available to fans to watch live and on demand.

The platform, accessible via gbbasketball.tv, will launch with live coverage of Women’s EuroBasket 2023 (15th -25th June) – a key event in the Olympic qualification journey – after Joymo acquired the rights in the UK via the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).

Commenting on the launch of GB Basketball TV, Chris Grant, Chair of the British Basketball Federation, said, “This is a very important milestone in the development of British Basketball.  The launch of GB Basketball TV, and the provision of more opportunities to watch our amazing players compete at all levels, are key pillars in our strategy to grow the game.

Global football content and media company, Footballco has partnered with Red Bull Four 2 Score.

Red Bull Four 2 Score is a new global tournament that brings the brand’s ‘power football’ philosophy to players around the world with a unique match and tournament format that features 4-on-4 matches with no goalkeepers, 10-minute matches, both mixed and all-female groupings, and goals in the first and last minutes counting double.

The competition features teams from more than 20 countries, including Brazil, USA and Germany with the best team from each nation will move forward to the world finals in Leipzig.

Players and Red Bull talent will also be involved including Dutch striker, Memphis Depay, England and Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold and freestyler Séan Garnier who are ambassadors in key markets.

Footballco will be covering the tournament through its global football media brand GOAL.

English Football League (EFL) One football club Lincoln City has extended its partnership with Riseholme College.

This new partnership agreement sees commitment from both parties to continue to develop the relationship which will see all activities, including the Academy Emerging Talent Programme and Goalkeeper Development Centre, taking place from the central hub. 

Jon Pepper, Head of Academy at Lincoln City, said, “The partnership between ourselves and Riseholme College is essential in our strategy moving forward and it’s fantastic to continue working with them.   

“We have an excellent working relationship, and the facilities help us provide first class provision to our young players in our Academy programmes.    

“We are delighted that we have renewed and extended the scope of the contract and look forward to working together for the foreseeable future.”
