British competitive gaming culture brand EXCEL ESPORTS has curtailed its partnership with Bioflow, a company known for its magnetic wristbands, days after announcing the deal.

The partnership was cancelled due to feedback from the gaming community, with the decision occurring effective immediately.

EXCEL partnered with Bioflow, a company known for its magnetic therapy items, on 19th December. The company has recently started focusing on gaming items, creating Bioflow Esports. The deal with EXCEL was thought to be its first major sponsorship move within the sport.

The initial announcement was, however, met with criticism on social media, with EXCEL later deleting its social media posts. The criticism surrounds the lack of evidence surrounding the impact of magnetic therapy.

London-headquartered food-delivery brand Just Eat has extended its partnership with Irish rugby union team Leinster Rugby as official food delivery partner until the end of the 2023/24 season.

Just Eat initially launched the partnership with Ireland’s most successful provincial side back in September 2021 and will now continue as a sponsor beyond 2023.

Just Eat will continue to offer exclusive discounts and offers to Leinster fans across both home and away matches.

To celebrate the contract extension, Just Eat are launching their very own Leinster Loyalty Club to give further discounts to supporters across the rest of the 2022/23 season.

Professional rugby league club Salford Red Devils and the Ghana Rugby League Federation have announced the establishment of the ‘Salford Red Devils Tag Rugby League Academy’, as part of the expansion of their partnership.

The aim is to give children in Ghanaian schools the opportunity to try rugby league, increasing their physical activity, whilst learning the core skills of the sport, in participation with clubs established in the country.

Players identified through the Tag Rugby Academy by teachers and community coaches will be placed into the ‘Rising Stars’ programme, offering further playing and training opportunities.

Salford Red Devils director, Paul Trainor, said, “We are absolutely delighted with the progress of the Ghana partnership during its first year. The team at Rugby League Federation Ghana are doing an incredible job developing the sport and we are proud to be supporting their work.”
