Formula 1 saw revenues in 2021 grow beyond 2019 levels as the motorsport championship continued its recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to results posted by the organisation’s owner, Liberty Media, F1 revenue was at $2.14bn (£1.60bn) in 2021, compared to $2.02bn in 2019 and just $1.15bn in 2020. The organisation announced a profit of $92m (£68.6m) in 2021 after an operating income loss of $386m in 2020.


Interwetten has been announced as the main sponsor for PDC European Tour events being held in Germany and Austria.

The Austria-based sports betting group, which partnered with the PDC at the 2021 European Championship, will extend its backing through the continental tour, which began over the weekend with the Interwetten International Darts Open in Riesa, Germany.


Amanda Lawson, the prominent UK sports producer, has launched Hang Loose Media Group, a company specialising in sports and esports production and content.

Lawson was previously Head of Production Operations for ITV Sport and UFC’s Director of Production across EMEA and has also held senior positions at Octagon CSI, IMG and Gfinity.


Footballco has acquired football brand, Mundial Studio, the creator of Mundial magazine and Giant podcast.

Mundial also operates an ecommerce business, selling Mundial merchandise, and has a consultancy and agency service that has worked with brands including Adidas and Nike. The magazine’s publication halted during the COVID-19 pandemic, but the acquisition means the print title will return in June.


The Rugby Players Association (RPA) has announced Bubble Childcare as a new Business Club Member and its Official Childcare Provider.

RPA members will receive free access to the childcare booking app through the partnership.
