London-based sports data and technology business IMG ARENA has announced a strategic investment in Swedish computer vision specialist Signality. Providing IMG ARENA with a controlling interest, the investment will enhance IMG ARENA’s data collection capabilities with leading computer vision and camera technologies.

Combined with IMG ARENA’s leading products, extensive network, and operational scale, Signality’s deep tech, cloud-based platform, which uses artificial intelligence to extract highly accurate sports event tracking data in real-time, provides sports leagues and federations, and ultimately fans, an enriched experience, driving greater fan engagement content solutions.

Brad van Wely, Chief Product Officer, IMG ARENA, said, “This is a very exciting and important investment for IMG ARENA. It will enable us to build a next-generation data collection system, which will generate new and exciting insights across a multitude of sports. This compelling data will underpin both our current and future suite of products for rightsholders and fans alike, combining real-time data, and analytics with innovative front-end solutions to enhance the fan experience.”


UK sports-tech company Stats Perform has announced a new partnership agreement with Atmosphere, a streaming TV entertainment for businesses, to bring Stats Perform sports data to the platform’s Atmosphere Sports channel.

Atmosphere Sports brings sports fans the latest breaking news, stories, live scores, highlights, and betting lines, as well as the conversations and content on social media that dominates the daily sports news cycle. Stats Perform will provide Atmosphere Sports viewers with real-time scores, stats, standings, betting lines, and more, across US sports and the English Premier League.


Logistics company Kuehne+Nagel has been appointed as the official logistics supplier to the upcoming Women’s Tour and Tour of Britain cycle races.

Both races will benefit from Kuehne+Nagel’s support for the transportation of key race infrastructure and vital equipment between host venues during the 14 days of competition.  Combined the two races will visit 26 venues and cover more than 2,100 kilometres of racing across England, Scotland and Wales. Kuehne+Nagel were also chosen as the official event logistics providers of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, taking place this summer.


Tom Harrison has stepped down as Chief Executive Officer of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) after more than seven years in the role, leaving the organisation in June.

The ECB Board will now begin a comprehensive search process to identify the next CEO who will lead the ECB and work with stakeholders across cricket to ensure the continued growth and development of the sport. A key part of this role will be taking on leadership of the game-wide programme of action and improvement to make cricket a welcoming and diverse sport, including through the continued implementation of the action plan agreed in November 2021 to drive out discrimination within the game.
