UK sportswear retailer JD Sports has extended its links with US sportswear brand Nike by landing a deal that gives JD customers access to more of the brand’s footwear and apparel.
The retailer has announced that it has become Nike’s first European retail partner for its Connected Partnership loyalty programme, giving its customers, starting in the UK, access to select Nike member-only products.
Sherilyn Paterson, JD Sports’ Group Merchandising Director, said, “In terms of partners that Nike are working with, they’re working with less but more important partners and we intend to be one of those landmark partners.”
Premier League football club Newcastle United has signed a new partnership deal with Cyprus-based sports betting firm Parimatch.
The brand, which is part of the Parimatch Tech company, has built on its Premier League presence with the Magpies joining Chelsea, Leicester City, and Aston Villa on the brand’s roster.

Premier League football club Tottenham Hotspur has joined forces with UK start-up technology business LV8 Sport to launch Grow Football, an new football training app.
Using movement tracking technology, Grow Football uses a smart phone’s camera feed to enable footballers of all ages and abilities to film themselves taking part in drills and competitions, which have all been specifically created in collaboration with Spurs.
Dean Rastrick, Academy Manager, Tottenham Hotspur, said, “Our academy players and coaches have worked closely with the team at Grow Football throughout the app’s development.
“We look forward to being part of this journey and offering our knowledge and experience to help Grow Football become an app that can genuinely enhance the way people around the world train and play. That commitment and belief in this app has only been strengthened by the club becoming shareholders in the project.”
