British Basketball League (BBL) team Bristol Flyers has appointed Lisa Knights as its new Chief Executive Officer.

A former international water polo player, Knights took up the role of Chief of Communications for Bristol Sport in 2014, has been a board member of the BBL team since 2018 and was appointed to the BBL Board of Directors in November 2022.

Regarding her appointment, Knights said, “It’s a real honour to be offered this role especially at such an important time in Flyers’ history.

“With the new campaign just underway, our first season playing in Europe, combined with the prospect of a new home at Ashton Gate, it is a tremendously exciting time for not just the club but basketball in the UK. There is huge opportunity for growth of the sport and the positive impact it has on our community.

“I’ve worked with Coach Kapoulas and Flyers Chairman Mike Beesley for almost a decade and really looking forward to supporting them and the whole Flyers family as we drive the club forward together. I cannot wait to see what we can achieve.”


Southend United has announced a new partnership with wefinanceanycar.com.

Under terms of the agreement, the Rayleigh-based company’s logo will appear on the front of the National League side’s third shirt for the 2023/24 football season.

London-based agency And The New has been retained by Kickoff by Zuju, a mobile football game, to lead its end-to-end digital marketing efforts.

In August the two organisations collaborated on the launch of the mobile game’s #PlayEveryMoment campaign starring Cristiano Ronaldo.

According to a statement, following the kick off campaign, the agency has ‘been retained for its full suite of services to give lift off to Kickoff by Zuju’s exciting, immersive second-screen experience for global football fans.’
