O2 has launched its brand new Wear The Rose campaign for the Guinness Six Nations.
The refreshed creative builds on the Wear The Rose movement and the recent successes of England’s men’s and women’s teams, while the telecoms company also aims to connect more people to rugby through its grassroots programme O2 Touch.
The campaign will feature an equal split of men’s and women’s players, with Owen Farrell, Maro Itoje, Kyle Sinckler, Lydia Thompson, Sarah Bern and Zoe Harrison all featuring
Former Sky Sports Commercial Director Richard Verow has been confirmed as the new Chief Sports Officer at broadcaster BeIn Sports.
Verow will be based in London and will oversee BeIn’s global sports rights acquisitions and distribution. Reporting directly to Yousef Al-Obaidly, CEO, BeIn Sports, he will take over the role from Daniel Markham, who has been promoted to Chief of Staff and Special Advisor to Al-Obaidly and Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Chairman, BeIn Sports.
Sky has announced that it aims to become net zero carbon by 2030.
The broadcaster says that it first ensured that its direct emissions were offset in 2006, but the new announcement applies to its entire value chain. It says it will transform its 5,000 vehicles to create a zero emissions fleet, develop the world’s most sustainable film and TV studios, help with the 11,000 companies who work with Sky to become carbon neutral, and will also plant trees, mangroves and seagrass to absorb the carbon it can’t cut out.
The W Series has appointed driver Naomi Schill as its Diversity and Inclusion Ambassador.
The 2019 W Series driver did qualify for re-entry into the 2020 Championship, but will instead take up a full-time ambassador role in the series’ London office.
The 25-year-old is half-Belgian and half-Rwandan, but grew up in South Africa. She raced under the German flag in the 2019 Championship.
UK technology and media investor, Capital Unplugged, has announced its investment into digital sponsorship marketplace for brands and rights holders, Connexi.
Capital Unplugged invests in early-stage and high-growth technology companies through a combination of funding sources, technology services and incubator space in London. Its investment is part of Connexi’s second round funding to support its rapid expansion across multiple sports rights holders and global brands.
GB Snowsport has partnered with Snow+Rock to mark the two-year countdown to the Winter Olympic Games Beijing 2022.
The tie-up will see Snow+Rock become the official retail partner for GB Snowsport up to and during the Games.
