O2, the Rugby Football Union (RFU) and Women’s Sport Trust (WST) have announced a collaboration that aims to use data and insight to help close rugby’s gender awareness gap.

The Women’s Sport Trust, founded in 2012 to raise the visibility and increase the impact of women’s sport, will provide the data and insights to inform the RFU and O2’s ambition to reduce the gender awareness gap.

The new project will look at key areas that include ‘visibility, demographics and social media trends’, with the results and findings gathered throughout the partnership helping influence and structure future campaigns and projects.

O2, WST and the RFU have stated that their three key ambitions are to ‘close the awareness gap between the England Men’s team and the England Women’s rugby team, grow the Red Roses fan base, and increase attendance to women’s rugby games and fill Twickenham Stadium’.

The project will begin ahead of the 2023 TikTok Women’s Six Nations which sees the Red Roses play its first stand-alone game at Twickenham on Saturday 29th April against France.

English Football League (EFL) Two football club Salford City has partnered with The Turmeric Co.

The Turmeric Co., which was founded by former Premier League striker and Wales international Thomas ‘Hal’ Robson-Kanu, will provide the promotion hopefuls with the company’s turmeric shots.

Robson-Kanu, Founder and CEO at The Turmeric Co., said, “Salford City are in a great position in the league, and I know that as the season nears its climax, everyone at the club will be hoping the team make that final successful push. It’s all about marginal gains at this point, and our nourishing formula will give the players that edge from a nutritional perspective.

“At this stage of the season, EFL games come thick and fast, and how quickly players can recover from the physical demands of the sport is more important than ever.

“Our shots help aid recovery, minimise muscle soreness, and reduce fatigue, so I’m confident that the team will thrive both on and off the pitch. We’re delighted to be working with Salford City and providing the club players with extra support.”

The Turmeric Co. is also partnered with the club’s rugby league neighbours Salford Red Devils.
