Zygo, the world’s first underwater audio-streaming service, has announced that World Champion Triathlete Alistair Brownlee MBE has participated in its seed round of $2.5m (£1.9m).

Described as ‘the Peloton of the pool’, start-up Zygo is aiming to bring swimming to the masses with its patented technology that enables users to tap into engaging guided swim content, paired to music. Further innovation is expected following the latest round of funding.


Former Chair of the Rugby Football Union (RFU) Andrew Cosslett has been appointed as ITV’s new Chair. Cosslett succeeds Sir Peter Bazalgette who will step down after six years in the role and nine years on the board.

ITV’s Senior Independent Non-Executive Director, Edward Bonham Carter, said, “We are delighted that Andrew will be joining us as Chair of ITV. Having conducted a thorough and detailed process, the Board is confident that we have found an excellent new Chair.”


England Golf has partnered with Sport England to tackle inequalities in the game. Sport England’s new funding model means that the national governing body for golf will have the opportunity to help level up access to the sport. According to a statement, England Golf’s ability to influence positive change and improvement throughout their sport drove Sport England’s decision to partner.  

Over the next five years, England Golf will receive an investment of £7.96m of government and National Lottery funding from Sport England.


Sporting goods retailer Sports Direct has announced the launch of Sports Slam, a new nationwide initiative for primary schools across the UK.

The goal of Sports Slam is to help children find their new favourite sport by providing playground-friendly twists on classic ports in the current PE syllabus.

The launch of Sports Slam follow research suggesting that three times as many children would rather watch a streaming service (48%) than play sport (16%).


Adidas has partnered with Street League UK to help end the lack of representation, safe spaces and funding that are amongst the many barriers women face when attempting to get involved with sport.

The partnership is part of Adidas’s ongoing Breaking Barriers Academy project – a five-year commitment to help make an impact on the lives of 50,000+ women and girls.


Legends International has announced the appointment of David Garth as Vice President of Commercial Revenue. Garth is the latest in several appointments at Legends International as it continues to seek top talent to add at executive level. In the new role, Garth will focus on driving revenue across the growing network of clients.
