RideLondon and the BBC have agreed a new deal which will see the broadcaster continue to show the festival of cycling for a further five years.
RideLondon returns on 27th May, after a three-year absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic, in a new format and a new partnership with Essex County Council.
The weekend will feature five events including the RideLondon Classique, a new three-day UCI Women’s WorldTour stage race and the RideLondon-Essex 100, a challenge ride for more than 20,000 amateur riders. The weekend also features FreeCycle, an eight-mile loop of traffic-free roads in central London for riders of all ages and abilities, and the RideLondon-Essex 60 and 30, shorter challenge rides.
The FA Women’s National League has today launched a new strategy to strengthen the third and fourth tiers of women’s football in England. The strategy, titled Empowering For Success, is backed by £1 million of investment per season for the next three years from the Premier League.
The strategy unveils multiple commitments from The FA WNL across the eight priority areas to achieve each strategic goal. These include increasing the number of female coaches in The FA WNL, as well as those from historically under-represented communities; creating a dedicated pool of match officials specialising in women’s football; reviewing the competition structure; introducing minimum club requirements to support player development; providing opportunities for players to engage in non-playing roles within football.
Former England test cricket captain Joe Root has signed a sponsorship contract with London-based sports marketing agency, Global Sports Media.
The company will sponsor Root throughout the 2022 English cricket season, with the top-order batsman set to take on the likes of New Zealand, India and South Africa for England, as well as playing for Yorkshire County Cricket Club and Trent Rockets in The Hundred.
Worldwide adventure brands Spartan and Tough Mudder UK have teamed up with global, integrated fundraising and registration platform GoFundraise, to offer a new fundraising experience for participants.
Following on from a US partnership with Spartan, GoFundraise will be onboarded by the UK teams as their recommended platform for both individual fundraisers and charity partners looking to maximise donations and fundraising from those taking on the challenges.
