The Rugby League World Cup 2021 (RLWC2021) has announced the appointment of UK-based production agency Sportsbeat as the official editorial partner for the tournament, which kicks off on 15th October at St James’ Park in Newcastle.

Under terms of the agreement, Sportsbeat will create professional written content for RLWC2021’s digital platforms as well as for syndication across local, national and international media outlets, ensuring fans have access to all the action from the men’s, women’s and wheelchair matches throughout the tournament.

Jon Dutton, RLWC2021 Chief Executive, said, “Our appointment of Sportsbeat is another way we are delivering against our commitment to provide the best possible experience for our fans and to make a real impact on communities.

“Sportsbeat have established deep and trusted relationships with key regional press groups which will allow us to reach audiences in key regional areas where we have matches.”  


English Football League (EFL) Championship club Swansea City has announced that transport and warehousing company Owens Group will be the club’s front-of-third-shirt sponsor for the 2022-23 season.

As well as having the Group’s logo displayed on the team’s third shirt, it will also continue as the club’s official logistics partner throughout the new season.

Rebecca Edwards-Symmons, Head of Commercial at Swansea City, said, “Owens Group has been a long-time supporter of the football club and we’re delighted to expand our partnership with them this season to include the front-of-third-shirt sponsorship.

“This will mean that all three of our 2022-23 kits will showcase local businesses as we continue to support and promote our community. Owens Group continues as our logistics partner, following many successful seasons.”


London-headquartered global online gambling company William Hill has been announced as the new official betting partner of Britain and Ireland’s 2022 Racing League.

Having served as title partner of the inaugural event last year, William Hill returns as an official betting partner of Racing League, which begins on 4th August and sees teams of racehorse trainers and jockeys representing seven regions of Great Britain and Ireland compete across six fixtures.

William Hill Director of Media, Sponsorship and UK Creative, Liam McKee, commented “The innovative and unique concept of Racing League has always appealed to us at William Hill and, with the planned changes to the 2022 format, we’re really excited to be involved in Racing League once again.”


Metaverse blockchain tech company Caduceus has partnered with British cricket legend Lord Ian Botham to launch an exclusive new NFT collection on 3D metaverse platform Light Cycle.

This move from the cricketing Hall of Famer introduces the world of cricket to the metaverse for the first time and showcases the endless possibilities of web3 technology.

Joe Pecchia has been appointed as the new Director of Esports Brand at Electronic Arts (EA). Pecchia joins after nearly three years at World Rugby, where he was the Director of Marketing.

Pecchia will again link up with EA Senior Director Monica Dinsmore after the pair worked together at American video game developer Riot Games.
