The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship 2021/22 calendar and new financial regulations were today ratified by the International Federation of Automobiles (FIA) during a meeting of the FIA World Motor Sport Council (WMSC).
Berlin and Rome will now host two races each in a double-header format across a weekend in Formula E’s largest-ever 16-race calendar. Season 8 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will see all-electric racing for the first time on the city streets of Vancouver, Jakarta and Seoul alongside regular host cities Diriyah, Mexico City, Monaco, New York and London.
Also confirmed at the WMSC was the introduction of new financial regulations for the Championship. The regulations will come into force from 1 October 2022 and will see two sets of regulations introduced by the FIA to monitor and control spending levels for both teams and for manufacturers during the Gen3 era.
EMG Group has announced the appointment of Neil Jones as EMG’s Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and Malcolm Swatton as Chief People Officer (CPO).
An experienced commercial business leader, Neil joins EMG after six years as an investor and Advisory Board member at Redbud Media and Catalytic Studios. He will support EMG in scaling the business and accelerating revenue growth. Prior to this, Jones was the Interim SVP at Discovery, the Global Managing Director of Key Accounts at Informa and the Chief Commercial Officer at Johnstone Press, among other roles. He started his career in Saatchi and Saatchi in Media Planning & Buying.
Veteran HR professional Malcolm moves to EMG after working as an HR Consultant. Malcom will guide EMG in the development of unified HR processes, rolling out specifications, KPIs and employee rewards schemes across the group. He has over twenty years’ experience, comprising Chief People Officer at Aspria, Global Head of Human Resources at Universal Music Group and Group Human Resources Director at ITV Digital.
Grounds people around the country will benefit from increased levels of support and guidance from 2022 thanks to a new partnership between the Rugby Football Union (RFU) and Honda.
Honda becomes principal partner of the RFU’s Rugby Grounds Connected programme which provides a two-way communication network between the RFU and rugby union grounds people, helping rugby club volunteers to improve their pitches.
Over 1,300 members of Honda Rugby Grounds Connected, which is free to join, will have access to a huge number of opportunities including live and on demand webinars, an online toolkit, specialist guidance and access to pitch advisors. The new partnership will also provide an enhanced a reward and recognition programme for grounds volunteers.
