Digital sports agency Stadion has announced Russell Stopford as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Stopford joins the London-based agency from Ligue 1 football club Paris Saint-Germain where he served as Chief Digital Officer for nearly four years.

Highly respected in the digital world, Stopford has held similar digital roles at FC Barcelona and Manchester City. According to a statement, in his new CEO position, he will lead ‘the strategic growth and development of Stadion’.

“Stadion has an outstanding reputation for creating bespoke high performance digital experiences for some of the most respected brands in sport,” said Stopford. “The business continues to go from strength to strength and I’m delighted to have the opportunity to evolve the offering and to lead and work alongside a very talented team of innovative and creative individuals.”


Following last week’s draw for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, UK broadcasters ITV and the BBC have revealed their coverage plans for the tournament.

The tournament – the first not to be held in May, June, or July owing to the intense summer heat of the host nation – begins on 21st November, with coverage of the first match between the Netherlands and Senegal on ITV.


British Weight Lifting has announced a new 10-year agreement with live video streaming platform Joymo, which will see the company become the governing body’s official broadcast partner.

According to a statement, the new agreement was reached following successful trials at recent British Weight Lifting competitions, including the British Championships, which took place in January.


Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club has announced a two-year deal with Gateshead-based motor retail brand Vertu Motors.

The new agreement – which was announced on 6th April, a day before the opening fixtures of the 2022 County Championship – includes pitch side displays, digital opportunities at Trent Bridge and player appearances.
