Padel has continued to grow rapidly across the UK in recent years, with Sport England recognising it as an emerging participation sport. The BERO Padel Classic marked the brand’s first sporting activation since launching in the UK earlier this year.

The tournament featured food and beverage offerings from London businesses including It’s Bagels and Axe Mangal, as well as partners such as Rémy Cointreau and Wild Idol Rosé.

The winning pair received a custom trophy designed by British jeweller Pragnell.

West Ham United Women have announced Paul Robinson Solicitors as the team’s new official back of shirt partner.

The solicitors firm has been legal partners of West Ham United since 2018 and West Ham United Women (WHUW) since 2020, and has now grown its partnership again in becoming a principal partner of the Barclays Women’s Super League Club.

Last season saw a club record breaking campaign, including securing the most home victories and home points in a single season.

In addition to its company logo appearing on the back of the Women’s Team’s shirts, Paul Robinson Solicitors’ branding will be visible through pitch side advertising, press conference backdrops and a significant digital presence, which will see its branding receive exposure throughout the season.

The full-service law firm notes that 85% of its workforce are women, and as part of the partnership the club will continue to support its ‘She Leads’ campaign that celebrates women across business and society. This includes women’s players appearing at guest speaker sessions, panels and other events to support the wider campaign. Paul Robinson Solicitors has offices across Essex and London and has been in operation for over 40 years.

Nathan Thompson, Executive Director, West Ham United, said, “Paul Robinson Solicitors have been fantastic partners to West Ham United over several years, with particular focus being on their support of our Women’s team.

The growth of their partnership to now becoming a principal partner is testament to the collaborative nature in which we work together to drive quantifiable results for the firm.

We are excited to continue our successful collaboration for years to come as we continue to achieve new goals on and off the pitch.”

Bowls England has secured the rights to stage the 2027 World Bowls Championships, marking the first time the dual-gender format has been held in England

Bowls England has secured the rights to stage the 2027 World Bowls Championships at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa, marking the first time the dual-gender format has been held in England.

The tournament, which has taken place every four years, will feature 14 events across 13 days in July 2027, with more than 24 nations expected to compete.

The event will include men’s, women’s and para competitions and will be the most significant global bowls event to take place in the UK since the 2022 Commonwealth Games, which also used Victoria Park as its host venue.

The World Championships have been positioned as a Platinum Event on the World Bowls Series calendar and are expected to deliver an estimated £4.8 million economic impact to the region. Funding for the event has included £250,000 from the UK government’s Shared Prosperity Fund and additional support from The National Lottery.

Bowls England has worked in partnership with World Bowls, UK Sport and Warwick District Council to secure hosting rights. Over 300,000 people currently play bowls in England, where the sport continues to engage a wide age range across clubs and community settings.

Jon Cockcroft, Chief Executive, Bowls England, said, “We see hosting the 2027 World Bowls Championships as an opportunity to inject impetus in the work we’re doing to grow bowls participation and help more people to become active.

“By showcasing our international bowlers, the values of the sport and the inspiring community activity within the game, it will change perceptions, break down barriers and inspire many of these people to have a go at our sport.”
