The UK Armed Forces Rugby Union (UKAF) has announced a new multi-year partnership with Vodafone Business, seeing it become a lead partner to all UKAF rugby teams which includes the seniors, U23s, veterans and rugby 7s.

UKAF Rugby Union is a combined team of the best players and support staff from the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force.

Vodafone will be front-of-shirt sponsor for the Women’s UKAF tour to Auckland, New Zealand in October for the International Defence Rugby Competition (IDRC).

Steve Knibbs, Head of Business Security at Vodafone, said, “As an army veteran myself I am incredibly proud to announce our new front-of-shirt sponsorship of UK Armed Forces Rugby. At Vodafone we have a long heritage of supporting both UK sport and the Armed Forces, so it is great to be able to bring the two together in this new partnership and help them reach their full potential on the world stage.”

Tom Blackburn, Secretary at UKAF Rugby, added, “The support from Vodafone has allowed us to enter this prestigious and historic tournament on the other side of the world. We are really looking forward to wearing the new kit and making history in our attempt to become World Champions.”

English football’s governing body The Football Association (FA) has appointed Mark Hogan as its new Head of Media Rights and Production.

Hogan joins the FA from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) where he worked as a Senior Manager of Broadcast and Media Rights.

National Football League (NFL) franchise The New York Jets and UK radio station talkSPORT have agreed to broadcast six 2022 Jets regular season football games.

The new partnership establishes talkSPORT as the official UK radio broadcast partner of the Jets, having already struck a similar deal with another American football team – the San Francisco 49ers.

The latest deal underlines the Jets’ commercial push in the UK, after recently entering into a partnership with British sports broadcaster Sky Sports to provide shoulder programming, and exclusive team content throughout the season.
