Whisper has sealed a new production partnership with Probellum, the boxing promotion and media company that launched last September and is led by President Richard Schaefer (pictured), one of the sport’s most respected promoters of the past two decades.

Probellum, which has pledged to work with all promoters while investing heavily into grassroots boxing, has signed partnerships with some of the biggest promoters globally, including Boxing Hall of Famer Lou DiBella’s DiBella Entertainment.


Cake, the creative agency specialising in sport, entertainment and culture, has appointed James Masters as Strategy Director. Masters, a Sport Industry NextGen 2020 Leader, will join the team led by Head of Strategy, Emma Lax, a fellow Sport Industry NextGen alum, to work across key clients including BT and EE.

Masters, who has previously worked at ENGINE Sport, The Space Between and CSM Sport & Entertainment, has led creative strategy and provided expert consultancy for clients including Vitality, Zalando, Coca-Cola, and BMW.

On joining Cake, James commented, “With a stella cast of ambitious clients, meaningful creative output, and expanding workforce, this is a brilliant time to be joining Cake. The excitement in the air is palpable, and I cannot wait to get stuck in.”


Sports betting operator 8Xbet has unveiled former England striker Teddy Sheringham as a brand ambassador.

Sheringham, who starred for Tottenham Hotspur FC and Manchester United FC during a glittering career, has agreed a two-year deal.


Premiership Rugby has appointed PTI to deliver its over-the-top strategy and support its wider business-planning process.

The rugby union organisation’s PRTV Live streaming service launched last weekend via Premiership Rugby’s free mobile application and will be available on its website from 25th March.


Julian Wheeler has been installed as the Chief Technology Officer at SIS (Sports Information Services), the multi-channel supplier of live betting services.

Wheeler has more than 21 years of experience in broadcasting through his various roles at Sky New Zealand, BT, Sky and Xplor.
