Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers FC has extended a partnership with the University of Wolverhampton.
The university, which has been a long-standing partner of Wolves, will continue to be the club academy’s front-of-shirt sponsor, and will collaborate with the club to offer placements to students, allowing them to gain valuable work experience.
EFL League One club Cambridge United FC has reached a deal in principle to purchase the freehold to its home ground, Abbey Stadium.
The stadium was sold to Bideawhile 445 in December 2004 due to the club’s financial difficulties before being acquired by Grosvenor Estates in 2010, with the club granted a long-term lease to use the ground.

Sportswear provider adidas is backing the launch of the Breaking Barriers Academy, which is designed to enhance opportunities for women and girls in sport.
The academy will offer a digital curriculum for coaches, staff, sports organisations and athletes who are aiming to drive systematic change for women and girls in sport. The academy was developed alongside streetfootballworld, Soccer Without Borders, and Women Win.
Hitech Grand Prix, the Silverstone-based Formula 2 and Formula 3 motor-racing team, has terminated its sponsorship deal with Russian chemicals company Uralkali with immediate effect.
The company has been a sponsor of the team since 2016.
