Visa has announced that it will sponsor 33 players at the upcoming Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023, through its Team Visa programme.
Visa, the exclusive payment service partner of FIFA, and has run its Team Visa programme since 2000. It is designed to support athletes and help them ‘thrive personally and professionally’ by providing support for players’ ‘philanthropic endeavours, financial literacy tools, and mental health and wellness resources’ as well as sponsorship fees.
The sponsored players include England’s Fran Kirby and Lauren James.
Andrea Fairchild, Senior Vice President and Head of Sponsorships, Visa, said, “We’ve witnessed historic shifts for equity and equality in football in recent years, and Visa is committed to providing these resilient women with the tools and resources necessary to continue working for a level playing field.”
The new deals are part of Visa’s 15-year investment in women’s football, designed to increase ‘visibility for the sport at all levels, driving acceptance, and future-proofing the game.’
British Cycling has announced that Jon Dutton has been appointed as the organisation’s new CEO.
Dutton will formally begin the role later this month, after recently concluding his tenure as CEO of last year’s Rugby League World Cup in England.
Jon’s twenty-eight-year career in the sport industry has included roles as Director of Readiness for the 2014 Tour de France Grand Depart, and experience working for major organisations including the PGA European Tour and UEFA. He is also a Board member of the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships in Glasgow and across Scotland.
Dutton commented, “It is a privilege to be appointed as Chief Executive of British Cycling, and I am very much looking forward to getting started in the role.
“I am very grateful to the British Cycling Board for putting their faith in me and while the current landscape for all sports is challenging, there are also boundless opportunities for growth.

Goodwood has partnered with green ticketing platform Train Hugger.
The new deal sees Train Hugger become the official rail ticketing partner for all of Goodwood’s motoring events at the West Sussex Estate.
The partnership will see Train Hugger make a donation to Goodwood for every rail ticket that is bought for travel to and from its events, which will subsequently be used as part of the Estate’s sustainability and tree planting initiatives.
Dan Garlick, Goodwood’s Motorsport Event Director, said, “This is a very worthy partnership for us and we applaud what Train Hugger is doing for the environment across the UK. We pride ourselves on our extensive sustainability strategy covering all aspects of the estate and its activities, and this new initiative is a welcome addition to our ultimate goal of becoming carbon neutral.”
London Marathon Events (LME) has announced a three-year partnership with TUDOR.
The deal will see the luxury Swiss watch brand become the official timing partner of Ford RideLondon from 2023 to 2025.
TUDOR’s partnership will begin for this year’s Ford RideLondon, a festival of cycling that will take place between Friday 26th May and Sunday 28th May.

TUDOR also recently announced that it is to be the official timekeeper of the Giro d’Italia and all cycling races organised by RCS Sport.
