World Netball has announced a new partnership with customer data technology platform Pumpjack Dataworks.

The multi-year agreement will see Pumpjack work with netball’s global governing body to help deliver its ‘grow strategy’, which sets out to ‘increase the global participation, reach, revenue and capacity of netball by developing a greater understanding of their global audience.’

Pumpjack will use the upcoming Vitality Netball World Cup 2023, taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from the 28th July until the 6th August 2023, to officially begin its data acquisition and valuation strategy.

Clare Briegal, CEO of World Netball, commented, “Increasing the reach of netball is a key part of World Netball’s Strategic Plan and through our partnership with PumpJack Dataworks we’ll be able to understand and scale our audience to help achieve this.

“We look forward to working together on a data acquisition strategy to build value for our Commercial Partners, Members and Regional Federations, with a particular focus on the upcoming Vitality Netball World Cup 2023 in Cape Town.”

The FA and Nike have partnered with The Powerhouse Project for the second edition of the ‘UEFA B Preparation Programme’.

The three-month-long coach education programme is aimed at developing the next generation of female football coaches, specifically designed to upskill 12 female UEFA C coaches and prepare them for the UEFA B license course.

The UEFA B Licence is often the minimum coaching badge required to work within any professional club and will be fully funded for each participant after they complete the programme.

The course will include masterclasses with top-level coaches, Premier League and Barclays WSL match day experiences, career pathways, and a community of female coaches through The Powerhouse Coach Collective, supported by Nike partners Chelsea FC, Tottenham Hotspur FC and Brighton & Hove Albion FC.

Former Great British track and field athlete Eilidh Doyle has been named as an ambassador to the World Athletics Indoor Championships.

The event is set to take place in Glasgow from 1st to 3rd March 2024, five years after the Scottish city held the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 2019.

Doyle commented, “I am thrilled to be announced as ambassador for the Championships, it is a real honour. I am excited that, as well as promoting the event, I will be contributing to the event steering group, ensuring that the operational plans put in place meet the needs of the athletes, creating the right environment to enable them to compete at their very best.

“Glasgow and Scotland have always been committed to innovation and delivering sport focused, athlete centred events, which is why athletes love to come here, so I am sure Glasgow will step up yet again, taking the 2024 world indoors to the next level. I know from competing at the Emirates regularly that the atmosphere will be incredible, so I urge all athletics fans to preregister for tickets while they can!”
