World Rugby has appointed Neil Hallett as its first Independent Ethics Officer, supporting the adoption of the international federation’s new Integrity Code, one of the key outcomes of its recent wide-ranging and independent-led governance review. 

Hallett brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served in the New Zealand Police for 35 years, retiring in 2020 as Detective Inspector, working across multiple national jurisdictions and cultures. He also joins with significant sports integrity and intelligence experience, having worked across several sports, including three World Cups in different sports in New Zealand.  

In his role, Hallett will act independently of World Rugby and his responsibilities include the assessment of eligibility of persons to be appointed as World Rugby officials and investigating potential breaches of the Integrity Code.


English Football League Two club Crewe Alexandra has announced a new partnership UK logistic provider Boughey Distribution which will see it take the naming rights for the main stand at the club’s Mornflake Stadium.

Angela Carus, Managing Director of Boughey Distribution, commented, “We are immensely proud to have strengthened our partnership with the club, and look forward to adding our company branding to the famous main stand. 

“Both the club and our business operate within the heart of the local community, and we are now literally neighbours since our Crewe warehouse opened a couple of years ago!”


English Football League Two club Stockport County has announced that health insurance provider Vitality will become the official naming partner of the Railway End Stand in the club’s Edgeley Park stadium for the 2022/23 season.

Vitality will also continue as the club’s official wellness partner for the men’s, women’s and senior academy teams. The partnership includes advertising signage, ticket sponsorship, a full advert in the matchday programme, executive season tickets and access to the club’s County Business Club.


Sport England has announced the promotion of Kate Dale to the role of Director of Marketing. 

Dale has worked at Sport England since 2004, notably as the Campaign Director for the This Girl Can campaign, the iconic Sport Industry Award-winning campaign from which was heralded for breaking down the barriers of participation in sport amongst women.

Dale was also recently confirmed as a speaker in the upcoming Sport Industry Socials event on 8th September.


UK-based Seven League, the digital arm of IMG Media, has appointed Dan Chirwa as Account Director for rugby league, providing the digital transformation element of IMG’s 12-year partnership with the sport in the UK.  

Chirwa joins from creative agency We Are Social, where he was a Senior Editor. He has delivered brand-building work for Pepsi, adidas, Vodafone and MLB whilst leading a daily newsroom that uses social media to insert brands into trending conversations. He was nominated for Campaign Magazine Faces to Watch 2021.
