WHOOP, the human performance company, and the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) have announced a multi-year partnership naming WHOOP as the Official Fitness Wearable of the WTA. The WTA has also approved WHOOP™ wearable technology for in-match use, making it the first technology to receive this designation.
WHOOP is a personalized 24/7 digital fitness and health coach that helps people unlock their inner potential and make meaningful lifestyle changes via actionable feedback on sleep, recovery, and strain.
WHOOP will bring biometric data into WTA broadcasts and social media content to highlight player performance during defining moments of the WTA Tour and players will have access to the new WHOOP 4.0 as inventory allows. Previously, WHOOP has successfully integrated real-time player data into broadcasts for organizations like the PGA TOUR, LPGA Tour, NASCAR, and CrossFit via WHOOP Live.
The Football Foundation has announced the launch of its ‘Power Up Your Grass Pitch’ campaign, which will revolutionise the state of grass football pitches in England.
The country’s biggest sports charity is on a mission to improve over 7,000 grass pitches by 2024 and 20,000 by 2030, to ensure the 12 million grassroots football players across the country have great places to play.
To help make this ambition a reality, the Football Foundation has developed an app which is now being rolled out across the country. ‘PitchPower’ is an online tool that gives every community football club and organisation in the country the ability to carry out their own grass pitch inspections, providing fast and accurate data which is less time intensive and more efficient than in person inspections.
Wolves and Wolves Foundation are working with national charity the Young Gamers and Gamblers Education Trust (YGAM) to educate and safeguard young people in the region about gaming and gambling-related harm.
In partnership with GamCare, YGAM are delivering the Young People’s Gambling Harm Prevention Programme and have trained Wolves and Foundation staff over the last year, providing them with the tools and information to safeguard the young people they work with and care for.
In addition to this, YGAM also provide free awareness workshops for parents and foster carers on topics of gaming and gambling. Their workshops and Parent HUB empowers parents with the knowledge and understanding around safeguarding their children.
