Arsenal Football Club was awarded the FT Sport Business Achievement of the Year
at the Sport Industry Awards 2007, recognising its success in building the
club’s impressive new home at the Emirates Stadium.
The three men that through vision, drive and business skills were
instrumental in the exceptional achievement of delivering the Emirates Stadium
project were Arsenal board members Danny Fiszman and Ken Friar OBE; and Managing
Director Keith Edelman.
The latter two directors were present at the Awards ceremony to pick up the
prize from Arsenal’s long-standing manager Arsene Wenger.
Opened in July 2006, the £390 million stadium has an all-seated capacity of
60,432, making it the second largest stadium in the FA Premier League and the
third-largest stadium of any kind in London.
