Mongoose, the integrated sports and entertainment marketing agency, has been appointed to commercialise the new visitor attraction at Silverstone.

Scheduled to open in Spring 2019, the Silverstone Experience will be an interactive, technology driven visitor attraction at the home of British motorsport.

The new visitor attraction, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, will celebrate the past, present and future of Silverstone and British motorsport, which aims to bring over 500,000 people per year closer to the circuit’s history.

His Royal Highness, Prince Harry is the project’s Royal Patron and is keen to draw attention to the contribution the UK has made to the sport as a means of encouraging more people into engineering and the British motorsport industry.

Sally Reynolds, CEO of the Silverstone Experience said: “We were impressed with Mongoose’s knowledge of the market and their positive attitude toward the Silverstone Experience. It’s an exciting time for us all and we are looking forward to working with Mongoose to help deliver our vision and securing long lasting commercial partnerships. There has been a very positive response already, with several conversations ongoing.”

Andy Muggleton, commercial director at Mongoose Sports & Entertainment added: “It is very exciting to welcome the Silverstone Experience to the Mongoose family and we are looking forward to helping define the partnership proposition and commercial structure before actively engaging the marketplace to find suitable partners.

“The Silverstone Experience offers so many rich opportunities for brands who have been working within the worlds of motorsport be it F1, Moto GP and further afield, to authentically tell their stories, integrate and showcase products and services within the new experience, at a world renowned destination.”

According to the agency, the Silverstone Experience will “deliver an immersive journey through the decades of motorsport at Silverstone, focusing on the heroes, history and innovations that have driven the sport forward.”

The new development comes at an uncertain time for the circuit, with Silverstone and F1’s management set to discuss the future of the British GP beyond 2019 at the end of the season.

Silverstone’s decision to activate the break clause in their 17-year F1 contract means the race is now only guaranteed at the venue for another two seasons.
