Silverstone Circuits Limited will host Britain’s round of the FIM Superbike World Championship in 2010.

The event’s immediate future had looked in jeopardy with the problems surrounding Donington circuit, but the Northamptonshire circuit has agreed a short term contract with Infront Motor Sports, who hold the commercial rights for the FIM Superbike World Championship, to ensure the race goes ahead.

Silverstone has invested more than £5m on its new bike circuit and will hold the MotoGP and British Superbikes races this year.

Silverstone is making a number of improvements to its spectator viewing areas with elevated viewing banks being added and existing grandstands and fence lines being moved closer to the on-track action.

Ticket details for the only UK round of World Superbikes, taking place at Silverstone between 30 July and 01 August, will be announced in due course.
