Sport Industry Group is delighted to announce that Sport Industry NextGen Leaders Alexandra Willis, head of communications, content and digital at AELTC, and Charlie Boss, head of marketing; commercial & strategy at ESPN, have been named as Sport Industry NextGen Coaches for 2017.

The move will see the pair utilise their experiences of the Sport Industry NextGen Leadership Package throughout 2016 to help guide the new group of Sport Industry NextGen Leaders, beginning with the Development Afternoon which precedes Sport Industry NextGen: A Celebration on 2nd February 2017.

The selected group of 2017 Sport Industry NextGen Leaders will then be officially recognised at Sport Industry NextGen: A Celebration that same evening (Thursday 2nd February), alongside industry peers. The night will bring the sport industry together for a night of inspirational and educational talks, celebrate the Leaders and provide a great opportunity to network and socialise with some of the sector’s biggest names.

Tickets for the evening event, which will combine content with networking at the Village Underground, Shoreditch, are available to purchase here.

Boss and Willis join the likes of entrepreneur, Sir Keith Mills; Olympic silver medalist, Gail Emms; Commonwealth Game Federation CEO, David Grevemberg; IDG managing director, Craig Preston; writer, communicator and strategist, Alastair Campbell and Women’s Rugby World Cup winner, Maggie Alphonsi as Sport Industry NextGen Coaches.

Charlie Boss commented: “Having learned so much from my experience and my fellow Leaders in the 2016 Sport Industry NextGen programme, I feel humbled to work with this year’s Leaders as a Coach. Sport Industry NextGen in partnership with Barclays is unique in the way it has created a community from different sectors and functions across sport, and this year’s group looks like an inspirational cross-section of the future of our industry. I can’t wait to meet them.”

Willis added: “I am absolutely delighted to be able to continue my involvement with Sport Industry NextGen as a Coach for 2017. I have learned so much about the industry, my peers, and myself during my time as a Sport Industry NextGen Leader in 2016 and I am really looking forward to continuing that learning with the 2017 cohort and hopefully helping them in their own development as future leaders.”
