Singapore Airlines has become the first official airline partner of The Six Day Series of track cycling events, promoter Madison Sports Group has announced.
The airline, voted the “world’s best” by SkyTrax customers, will partner with two of the biggest events in the global series: Phynova Six Day London and the inaugural Six Day Manchester.
The agreement will also see Singapore Airlines fly the best Six Day riders from across the Series to the Final in Brisbane next April.
Commenting on the “brand fit”, James Durbin, CEO of Madison Sports Group, said: “Six Day events are known for delivering a world-class experience that can’t be found anywhere else and we are delighted to welcome a partner that is focused on doing the same for their customers.
“At Six Day we aim to take our fans on a journey, delivering the highest standards in the process, much like Singapore Airlines.”
Sheldon Hee, general manager UK&I Singapore Airlines, added: “It’s a great opportunity to partner with Six Day, especially as the event finale takes place in Australia. We have long been known as the country’s most frequent foreign visitor due to us serving nine destinations – including the race series venues in Melbourne and Brisbane.
“We are looking forward to being part of one of the world’s fastest growing sporting spectacles and welcoming the elite athletes and their fans on board our flights.”
Singapore Airlines joins a growing list of new and returning sponsors for the Phynova Six Day London 2018 event, which includes British life sciences company Phynova as title sponsor, as well as SONY, Amstel, Addison Lee and Switzerland Tourism.
The event will take place at the Lee Valley VeloPark, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park from 23rd – 28th October 2018, featuring riders including reigning World Champions Roger Kluge and Kirsten Wild.
The very first Six Day Manchester will be held between 22-24 March 2019 at the HSBC National Cycling Centre.
