Škoda UK will continue its association with British cycling after agreeing a deal to partner the Rapha Condor JLT professional team for the fifth consecutive year.
The team will run three Octavia Estate support vehicles as it competes in major cycling races throughout the UK and Europe during 2014. The professional squad, which includes Škoda UK ambassador Ed Clancy and ex-British Road Racing Champion, Kristian House, will compete in both the National Series of road events in the UK and European races such as the UCI Europe Tour as well as the UCI track programme.
Emily Burns, Communications Manager for Škoda UK, said: ‘We’re proud to be the Official Partner to Rapha Condor JLT, a team that embodies the excitement and spirit of British cycling.’
Burns added: ‘Thanks to both the impressive load capacity of the Škoda range and our fantastic cycling accessories, our cars are the vehicles of choice of both professional and amateur cyclists across the UK. Rapha Condor JLT is a team that connects with cycling enthusiasts far and wide, and our ongoing partnership is a reflection of our continued dedication to encouraging widespread participation in the sport.’
John Herety, manager of the team, said of the deal: ‘We are delighted to be able to renew and extend our relationship with Škoda UK, a brand synonymous with the biggest cycling events worldwide. There are some great events taking place this season and a rapidly developing set of teams giving us competitive races every week from March to September.’
