The Football Conference is looking for a new title sponsor after confirming its three-year partnership with online payment management company, Skrill, has been ended by ‘mutual agreement’ just seven months into the deal.

Skrill took over from online bookmakers Blue Square Bet to become the competition’s title sponsor in July 2013, but their association with the competition will now come to a close at the end of the current season, according to a statement on the Football Conference website.

The company took over the sponsorship last summer with just weeks to go until the start of the season following a two months search by the Football Conference to secure a sponsor of its three divisions.

The statement adds: ‘Skrill has undergone a number of changes since the agreement was entered into and will be aligning any future sponsorship activity to its global strategy.’

‘The Football Conference has always enjoyed excellent relations with its previous title partners and, in the relatively short time it has worked with Skrill, has found the relationship to be a strong and beneficial one.’

The Football Conference is now seeking tenders to take up the sponsorship from the beginning of the 2014/15 season.
