Sky Sports and BT Sport have both announced steps to combine each other’s channels into single subscriptions for consumers.
Sky has launched two new sports packages that will see BT Sport available to purchase through Sky TV platforms in a single subscription, with a combined package available for £35 per month – which Sky says is a saving of 35% on standalone monthly subscriptions.
“Our customers have always loved sport and we’re delighted to now be able to offer them even more. From the excitement of the UEFA Champions League, Tiger Woods defending The Masters and the rise of Fallon Sherrock, 2020 is a huge year of sport,” said Lyssa McGowan, Chief Consumer Officer, Sky.
“Now, through our partnership with BT and the launch of our new sports packages, millions of fans can watch all the sports they love.”
BT Sport, meanwhile, has unveiled five new entertainment packages, including a ‘Sport’ bundle with BT Sport channels, and a £40 per month ‘Big Sport’ package, which also includes Sky Sports and Now TV access.
Marc Allera, CEO, BT’s Consumer Division, said: “Life doesn’t stand still from month to month, so we don’t believe our customers’ TV should either.
“Our new range of TV packs bring together the best premium services, fully loaded with a wide range of award-winning shows, the best live sports in stunning 4K and the latest must-see films – all with the flexibility to change packs every month – with quick and easy search to find what you want to watch.
“So now with a click of a button you can take out the Big Sport package to catch the top Premier League fixtures one month and swap it for VIP for a rainy school holiday with the family the next.”
