Skateboard and surfing sensations Sky and Ocean Brown, aged 11 and 8, have been named as the first ambassadors to represent compostable bandage strips PATCH.

The pair, who are hoping to compete at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, were chosen by the brand because of their determined attitudes, according to PATCH founder and CEO James Dutton.

Dutton’s youngest son suffered a severe allergic reaction to common plaster adhesive, which later alerted Dutton to a gap in the market for a hypoallergenic solution that could be composted to avoid contributing to plastic waste.

Dutton said: “We’re so excited about our partnership with Sky and Ocean – I created PATCH because I wanted my kids to be able to live life without fears or limits, and this is exactly what these two represent. We see scratches, bruises and cuts as little badges of honour. Signs of a life lived to the fullest. A tree climbed, a dance floor owned or in Sky and Ocean’s case – a championship won!

“Why hide your wounds when you can show it off to the world with PATCH? There are no limitations when it comes to providing parents with a solution to help their children get the best out of life”.

Sky and Ocean’s ambassadorship comes as PATCH opens its applications for 2020 Challengers Programme. Proud to support some of the world’s best athletes – like Sky and Ocean – PATCH is looking for the next generation of heroes to work with the brand.
