Sky has appointed Nathan Homer as Director of Trading, Broadband & Sports on the company’s NowTV business.
He will lead the commercial trading team, overseeing customer growth and revenue as well as contributing to the business’s overall strategy on sport and on broadband.
Homer’s previous experience includes work on FMCG, finance and sport brands, after spending 14 years at Procter & Gamble where he ran Gillette’s UK business and the 2012 Olympics campaign, “Proud Sponsor of Mums”. He then moved to Barclays’, heading up the bank’s sponsorship portfolio across sport and entertainment propositions, including the Premier League and ATP Tour Finals.
Most recently, Homer was Chief Commercial and Marketing Officer at the European Tour, where he oversaw the commercial, marketing and operations departments, including consumer experience and revenue generation of the 2018 Ryder Cup in Paris, which won the Sport Event of the Year award at the Sport Industry Awards 2019.
Reporting to Marina Storti, Managing Director, NowTV, Homer will move into the wider media world at a time when the global OTT landscape looks set to develop significantly, with the launches of Disney+, Apple TV and Britbox to take place over the next 12 months.
Homer said: “The chance to join one of the great media companies at such a time was unmissable. To contribute from my business and consumer experience into a fast changing new digital and streaming world is exciting, and keeping a connection to sport, and hopefully the industry, is valuable to me as the future plays out.”
