Sky Sports will broadcast more than 1000 EFL matches per season from the start of the 2024/25 campaign after announcing the launch of its new channel, Sky Sports+.
Sky Sports+, which will be integrated into all existing Sky platforms, its linear TV options, the company’s NowTV streaming service, and its Sky Sports app, will see its live sports coverage increase by 50%.
The UK pay-TV provider will broadcast more than four times the number of fixtures from the EFL Championship, League One and League Two, with each if the 72 clubs set to feature more than 20 times per season.
To kick off the 2024/25 campaign, Sky will air all matches from the opening fixture round across all three divisions.
As well as the expansion of the network’s EFL coverage, Sky will air all matches from top-flight rugby league division the Super League.

Sky Sports+ will also provide docuseries content, including a new darts documentary.
The revamped Sky Sports app meanwhile will offer live and on-demand access to all Sky broadcasts and will allow users to pause and replay content.
Janathan Licht, Managing Director at Sky Sports, said, “With the introduction of Sky Sports+, we are now able to offer sport fans more choice and an even better experience when watching the live action, at no extra cost.
“For the first time, we will broadcast every game live from across the EFL on the opening weekend. It’s going to be a huge moment for football fans up and down the country and is a fitting way to kick-off our ground-breaking new partnership with the EFL.
“And this is just the beginning; Sky Sports+ unlocks the potential for us to keep evolving and finding new ways to deliver brilliant sport to our customers.”
