Men’s tennis governing body the ATP has signed a three-year broadcast rights extension agreement with Sky Sports covering the full calendar of events including the end of season Barclays ATP World Tour Finals.
The new deal, which begins in 2011, also includes the live rights to the ATP World Tour Master 1000 tournaments and the five ATP World Tour 500 events.
The Sky Sports agreement is one of a raft of multi-year broadcast deals concluded by the ATP ahead of the 2011 season which have cumulatively led to a 50% overall increase in media rights sales revenues for the governing body.
Fans will enjoy nearly 45,000 hours of ATP World Tour coverage in more than 180 countries through the newly completed broadcast agreements for ATP World Tour Masters 1000 and 500 events. All ATP World Tour Masters 1000s will be broadcast globally in HD for the first time in 2011.
