The England football team’s progress in next summer’s UEFA European Under-21
Championship will be shown exclusively live on Sky Sports after the broadcaster
secured the UK TV rights.

The tournament takes place in the Netherlands next June, England qualifying
after beating Germany in a play-off game last month thanks to a late double from
teenager Arsenal striker Theo Walcott.

Each of the tournament’s 15 games will be shown live on Sky Sports, from the
opening match in Heerenveen on Sunday 10 June to the Final in Groningen on
Saturday 23 June.  The draw for the Finals will be made on Friday 24 November
and shown live on Sky Sports News.

England is one of eight finalists alongside Belgium, the Czech Republic,
Italy, Portugal, Serbia, Israel and hosts the Netherlands. In the opening stage
the nations compete in two groups before the winners and runners-up in each
progress to knock-out Semi-Finals.

The sales process was handled by UEFA’s rights selling partner, TEAM
Marketing.
