Sky Sports has acquired the rights to near-live extended highlights for the Premier League through to 2019.
Starting from next year, the pay-TV broadcaster will show extended match highlights of all 212 Premier League games not broadcast live on TV.
It will be the first time fans will be able to access these extended highlights on Sky Sports’ On Demand service, across TV, mobile, online and tablet devices through Sky Go.
The deal enables extended highlights to be shown within Sky Sports’ highlights programme, Goals on Sunday, as well as key moments to be shown on Sky Sports’ Gillette Soccer Saturday and Sky Sports News HQ.
Sky Sports also recently added mobile clip rights from all Premier League matches and live rights to 126 games from the Premier League.
Sky Sports managing director, Barney Francis said: “Sky Sports has never been in a stronger position with this deal cementing our position as the first choice for sports fans.
“It completes the set and is more good news for Sky Sports viewers having already secured more live Premier League matches from the 2016/17 season, as well as clips from every match available on mobile and online.
“We are giving fans more ways to watch extended highlights, with the content now available on demand in the individual club section so fans can catch up on the action when they want.”
