Slater & Gordon has signed a sponsorship deal with England cricket captain Alastair Cook, currently leading the national side in their test series against India, with the personal law firm’s branding to be displayed on the back of his cricket bats during all his England and Essex matches.
As part of the agreement negotiated by Paragon Sports Management, Alastair’s agent, the opening batsman will also act as a brand ambassador for the law firm.
Commenting on the deal, Alastair said: ‘I am thrilled that Slater & Gordon will be supporting me during a very exciting period for English cricket and I look forward to representing the company both on and off the pitch’.
Since making his test match debut in 2006, Alastair has been capped 102 times by his country and gone on to become England’s leading century maker of all time with 25 test match centuries. The opening batsman also holds the record of becoming the youngest player in the history of cricket to score 7,000 test match runs.
In the opening day of the five-Test series against India, Murali Vijay hit an unbeaten century but strong bowling and athletic fielding helped England restrict India to 259-4 on a lifeless Trent Bridge pitch.
