Slazenger has announced that Lancashire and England cricketer James Anderson has joined them as an official ambassador.

The fast bowler will be endorsing Slazenger’s new V Series equipment.

He made his full Test debut in 2003 against Zimbabwe and has since established himself as an indispensable member of both the England & Lancashire set ups.

From a young age Anderson was earmarked as ‘one to watch’, and in 2003 he was named the first player in 54 years to win the England Young Cricketer of the Year Award unchallenged.

His form in the 2010/11 Ashes series in Australia resulted in him finishing as the leading series wicket taker – taking 24 wickets.

Anderson will use the Slazenger V100 bat for the 2011 season.

Sunny Singh, head of sports marketing for Slazenger, said: ‘It is fantastic news that James has signed with Slazenger. He is one of the most feared bowlers in World cricket and we’re very proud to have a player of his talent on board’.

‘He joins the growing list of world class talent to be associated with the brand, and we’re looking forward to him enjoying the best years of his career with Slazenger’.
