Soccer Aid and UNICEF have agreed a new partnership with WeShop.
WeShop, a retail community platform that allows its customers to own a stake in the company, will benefit from branding exposure at the charity-celebrity football match.
The latest edition of the annual Soccer Aid game will be played on Sunday 11th June at Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United FC.
Since 2006 – when Robbie Williams co-founded the concept – Soccer Aid has raised over £75m for humanitarian aid charity UNICEF.
The new partnership will see WeShop’s brand featured prominently across the team’s training centre used in the days before the game and on both team coaches, the sleeves of both teams’ warm-up jackets and on the Soccer Aid World XI FC match shirt sleeve on matchday.
Richard Griffiths, Chairman of WeShop, said, “Soccer Aid was a natural choice for our first national advertising campaign to showcase WeShop and the benefits the platform brings to everyone. Our community all around the UK are looking forward to either being at the match or watching it live on ITV.”
Kenneth Shepherd, Executive Director of Soccer Aid Productions, added, “WeShop are an innovative market leader and we are delighted to welcome them to Soccer Aid for UNICEF. Everyone connected to the campaign is excited to see the WeShop brand across our digital output, training ground and in-stadium branding – including on the World XI kit.
“WeShop’s generosity helps us to raise vital funds for UNICEF and to increase global awareness of our event.”
