Somerset County Cricket Club has announced Cooper Associates as its ground naming rights partner, with the ground now known as The Cooper Associates County Ground.

The five-year agreement extends the relationship between Cooper Associates and Somerset CCC, with the financial advisory firm having links in the area, sponsoring Taunton Cricket Club and former Somerset wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler.

In addition, Carl Gazzard, who played a part in Somerset’s T20 Cup triumph in 2005, and James Regan, who left the club last year, are both members of the firm’s team.

Somerset’s CEO Guy Lavender said: “This commercial partnership with Cooper Associates highlights our determination to develop excellent relationships with our local partners in order to build the financial strength of the club. This agreement is a key component of ensuring the long term success of Somerset CCC both on and off the pitch. Cooper Associates are a major player in the local business community, have won awards for their customer service and are exactly the calibre of company that we want to work alongside. We have an excellent existing relationship with them and this partnership will see that build and strengthen over the years ahead. We are very much looking forward to working with them and achieving our shared objectives for both organisations.

Lee Cooper, CEO of Cooper Associates added: “Cooper Associates has a strong affinity with Somerset CCC and becoming the ground naming rights partner is the culmination of the relationship that has been built over the last few years. The club and its players are an integral part of Somerset with core values synergistic with our own. This partnership is without question one of our most exciting to date and we look forward to both the new season and further strengthening our relationship with the club.”
