Sony Takes On Tough Mudder Partnership

Sony has joined Tough Mudder as the official smartphone and SmartWear sponsor of the obstacle challenge for 2015.

The sponsorship aims to showcase its Xperia Z3 flagship smartphone, as well as the fitness capabilities of its SmartWear devices and accompanying Lifelog application.

Sony claims its highest ever level of waterproofing in a smartphone with the Xperia Z3 – waterproof for up to 30 minutes at a depth of up to 1.5m – just in time for the upgraded Arctic Enema 2.0 obstacle.

As part of the deal, Xperia Z3’s will be placed strategically around the course, documenting participants’ Tough Mudder journey from start to finish.

Using Sony’s TimeShift Video and TimeShift Burst features, participants will be able to relive their highs and lows in slow motion at the official Tough Mudder after party, Après Mud.

Sony will also be recruiting members to join Team Sony, and are now looking for members with a desire to get fit with a new, tech-inspired training programme using Sony’s SmartWear and the Lifelog app to track their progress and monitor their training regimes.
