Specsavers has launched its English Cricket Team partnership with an ultra-high-res photoshoot, providing an unprecedented look into the eyes of star players Jos Buttler, Jonny Bairstow and Stuart Broad.

The Official Test partner revealed the unique images ahead of the first Specsavers Test Series, which begins in Edgbaston this week with England taking on India.

The stunt was designed to highlight the intricacy of the human eye and the importance of maintaining eye health in the sport of cricket.

Confronted with the results of his unusual eye test, Bairstow said: “Hand-to-eye co-ordination is one of the most important aspects of cricket and I’m lucky having good eyesight allows me to work hard on this aspect of my game while I’m either batting or keeping.

“It is fantastic that Specsavers have joined as title sponsor for the upcoming Test series with India. They have been a great partner for English cricket and I hope the partnership encourages fans to maintain their own health with eye tests.'”

Specsavers has formed a long-term relationship with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), which will also see the optical care specialist serve as title partner for the 2019 Ashes Series.

The brand has been involved in English cricket since 2014, including as title sponsor of the County Championship and Partner of the ECB Association of Cricket Officials (ACO) for the past two years.

Specsavers’ ‘Test the Experts’ campaign will run throughout the summer with planned activations including ‘The Specsavers #Shouldve Test Series’ – a mini video series offering fans the chance to vote for their favourite moment and win the Ultimate Specsavers Test Experience.

In addition, a new fielding challenge will give Test Series spectators the chance to go head-to-head with members of the England Team.
