Potential sponsors looking to secure a tie-up with a top Premier League club are circling around the Tottenham Hotspur shirt sponsorship deal with the team’s current contract with Mansion expiring at the end of the season.

With Manchester United and Liverpool securing lucrative new sponsors in the form of A.ON and Standard Chartered Bank respectively and Arsenal and Chelsea tied up in long-term contracts with Emirates and Samsung, the Tottenham deal has become the most sought after contract currently in the open market.

The club’s existing deal with betting firm Mansion was signed in 2006 running for four seasons and worth £8.5m a year.

With the top four Premier League clubs now commanding deals around the £20m a year mark, industry sources estimate that the value of the Tottenham shirt contract could rise upwards of £15m for any potential new commercial partner.

Adding to the attraction of the deal is Tottenham’s promising start to the new season with many observers predicting that the club could break into the top four this year thus attaining Champions League football and the promise of added exposure levels for any new sponsor.
