Netball legend Pamela Cookey has been appointed as the first Independent Chair of Fearless Women, a purpose-driven organisation aiming to facilitate change in women’s sport.
The 39-year-old former England Netball captain previously featured in Fearless Women’s podcast, The Game Changers, and was a founding member of the Women’s Sport Collective’s pilot group, when the non-profit organisation launched in 2020.
Fearless Women oversees the Women’s Sport Collective, and is led by CEO Sue Anstiss and Kate Hannon.
At present, the free network has more than 7,500 members across 91 countries.
Sue Anstiss, CEO of Fearless Women, said, “We were overwhelmed by the incredible quality of women who applied to be our Chair, but Pamela was the stand-out candidate.
“There’s also a lovely synergy in the fact that Pamela was a guest on the first series of The Game Changers podcast and has also been a huge supporter of the Women’s Sport Collective as a founding
“Pamela has seen first-hand the impact of the work we do in sport, and we’re incredibly excited to work with her moving forward.”
Liverpool FC has become the first Premier League team to reach 10 million subscribers on YouTube.
Since its launch in 2005, the club’s official YouTube channel has amassed more than 2.7 billion total views.
In a video celebrating the milestone, Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate can be seen receiving the prestigious Diamond Play Button, before handing it over to club captain Virgil van Dijk.
Over the last year, Liverpool launched multi-language audio on the channel. Much of the channel’s content is now available with Spanish language audio, while subtitles are accessible in multiple languages.
Drew Crisp, SVP of digital at Liverpool, said, “To achieve 10 million subscribers is not easy and it’s exciting to now be a Diamond Creator, one of only a few sporting creators in the UK.
“We’re extremely proud of our original content and that by delivering it on our YouTube platform we can easily connect with our global fan base wherever they are in the world.”
Puma has been announced as the official apparel and footwear partner of fitness racing series Hyrox.
The three-year agreement covers all Hyrox races globally and runs until 2027.
A Hyrox race consists of eight rounds of a 1km run followed by one functional movement
The next UK event on the Hyrox calendar will be Birmingham on 25th to 27th October, followed by London on 29th November to 1st December.
