SIG is pleased to announce the 14 thought leaders from across the sport sector who have agreed to contribute towards the first annual Sport Industry Report.
The inaugural edition of the report will offer insights into the state of the UK’s sport industry, featuring deep dives into the sector’s most prevalent topics, including sustainability, women’s sport, technology, investment, and fan experience.
Liverpool’s Director of Impact, Rishi Jain, will voice his expertise on the subject of sustainability, while Dr Susie Tomson, Senior Partner at sports consultancy Think Beyond, will examine the relationship between purpose and commercial viability.
Nikki Doucet, CEO of Women’s Professional Leagues Limited (WPLL) – the newly formed governing body which oversees the WSL and Women’s Championship – shares her thoughts during an inflection point in women’s football, with additional commentary from Josh Charalambous, a Partner at law firm RPC.
Elsewhere in the chapter, EY’s Sport & Media Practice Lead Tal Hewitt, and London Mavericks Netball owner, Lucy Wray Mercey offer alternative viewpoints of the space.
Weighing in on the influx of overseas investment into the UK sports market over recent years will be EY’s Assistant Director of Private Equity, Edward Lyons, and Rupert Daniels, Director of Services and Skills at the UK Government’s Department of Business & Trade.
A trio of experts will head up our the sports technology chapter, namely Sportradar’s Blaž Žitnik, Adobe’s VP of International Marketing Simon Morris, and Andrew Hall, VP of Global Demand Generation at digital content management specialist Canto.
Finally, to delve into the world of fan experience, Maria Knutsson-Hall, Principal Architect at Populous, Rollo Goldstaub, Global Head of Sports Partnerships at TikTok, and Brendan Dinen, Head of Marketing at the AELTC are also set to contribute.

The launch of the report follows of an end-of-year research period conducted by SIG and Nielsen Sport.
To coincide with the report’s publication, SIG will be hosting a launch event on 14th January at The Forum, located within EY’s London Bridge office.
