Sport Industry Group has announced Sporting Wine Club as the Official Wine Supplier to the BT Sport Industry Awards 2016 on 28th April.
The Sporting Wine Club is a member’s club founded by ex-England rugby player Simon Halliday, and business partner Chris Mariner, sourced from sporting winemakers around the world such as Schalk Burger & Sons, the Springbok rugby family.
The industry’s flagship event will see over 1,750 major players from the world of sport, business and entertainment arrive at Battersea Evolution to celebrate work from across the sporting world.
Simon Halliday, co-founder of the Sporting Wine Club, commented: “The Sporting Wine Club is delighted to be supplying Schalk Burger’s wines to the BT Sport Industry Awards. This is exactly the sort of event where business and sporting values come together so successfully. In that context, we are perfectly matched as it is those values, which prompted us to start this club in the first place.”
Nick Keller, chairman, Sport Industry Group, added: “We’re delighted to have the Sporting Wine Club bringing us some fantastic wines from around the world at the BT Sport Industry Awards. The way they have channelled the drive they have for sport through into their business is testament to the passion they share for the industry.”
Sporting Wine Club members purchase a wine credit for the year rather than paying a fee, and are then sent a carefully selected case of wine every three months, as well as at Christmas, from the club’s sporting wine collection. Other benefits of being a member include networking events, private wine tastings, access to sporting personalities and visits to our winemakers’ vineyards.
