The National Basketball Association and Sportlobster has announced an extension of their existing partnership that will see the online sports network named presenting partner of NBA Global Games London 2015, taking place on Thursday.

The game, featuring the Milwaukee Bucks and New York Knicks, takes place at The O2 and marks the NBA’s fifth regular-season contest in London, all sellouts.

In addition to being the presenting partner, Sportlobster is also the event’s official social media partner.

As part of the deal, Sportlobster will receive prominent brand exposure, including event logo inclusion, on-court and in-arena signage, and will host a number of fan activations and promotions leading up to the game.

Sportlobster tipped off its partnership with the NBA in October 2014 as presenting partner of NBA Global Games Berlin 2014, and associate partner of NBA Global Games Istanbul 2014 presented by Garanti Bank featuring the 2014 champions San Antonio Spurs.

Marc Armstrong, NBA vice president, global marketing partnerships & emerging markets – EMEA, said: “We are thrilled to be expanding our existing partnership with Sportlobster as we welcome the Bucks and Knicks to London.”

“As our fans increasingly look for new and exciting ways to interact with the NBA, this collaboration provides a unique platform to get even closer to the action.”

Andy Meikle, co-founder and CEO of Sportlobster, added: “Our experience as presenting partner of the NBA Global Games in Berlin and Istanbul was second to none.”

“We received fantastic exposure and witnessed an influx of new basketball fans join and interact on Sportlobster, as they recognized the value of our sports social network and the multiple functionalities that come with it.  Therefore, it only made sense to continue our collaboration with the NBA. The excitement and attention around NBA Global Games London 2015 presented by Sportlobster will help to expand our reach around the world, particularly in the U.S., which is a focus market for us.”

Joining Sportlobster for NBA Global Games London 2015 are marketing partners adidas, BBVA, Capital Radio, Cisco, Foot Locker, Gatorade, SAP and Sprite.
