Social network platform Sportlobster has agreed a presenting partnership with the National Basketball Association (NBA) for their pre-season game in Berlin – part of the league’s ‘Global Games’ series.
As part of the deal Sportlobster, a social network dedicated to sport, will also become an associate sponsor of the NBA’s pre-season game in Istanbul on 11th October.
The Global Games series will see reigning NBA champions San Antonio Spurs face Alba Berlin in Germany on 8th October, before taking on Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul three days later.
It is the first time that the social network, which launched last year with the backing of the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Michael Owen and boxer George Groves, has partnered a US sports league.
Andy Meikle, co-founder and chief executive of Sportlobster, said: ‘The NBA is one of the most iconic and popular sports leagues in the world, featuring athletes and teams recognised and fervently supported by fans around the globe.’
‘We are proud to be joining an elite list of NBA partners and through this partnership, Sportlobster will serve as the perfect platform for the global basketball community to engage with the NBA with news, blogs, fixtures and results, live match data and photos and video.’
The partnership will also see Sportlobster offer NBA fans the chance to win a VIP experience at NBA Global Games Berlin, although details are yet to be revealed.
