Sports Consultancy Wins Sailing Brief

The Sports Consultancy has been appointed by the city of Aarhus in Denmark, host of World Sailing’s Olympic class championship, the 2018 World Sailing Championships, to develop a commercial programme for the event.

The project will be undertaken by The Sports Consultancy’s rights marketing consultancy team, established in late 2015 to work with the rights marketing sales team, both headed by Marc Hope.

The team will work with the city of Aarhus to establish the value proposition before forming a commercial structure and packages.

The 2018 World Sailing Championships are organised in collaboration between the Danish Sailing Association, World Sailing, Sailing Aarhus, Sport Event Denmark and the City of Aarhus.

Commenting on the appointment Marc Hope, director rights marketing, The Sports Consultancy said: “The 2018 World Sailing Championships provides a unique opportunity for us to demonstrate our innovations and ability to structure and package commercial assets and inventory.

“Since we established the rights marketing division nearly one year ago we have been fortunate to acquire a broad portfolio of assets which we are marketing spanning international federations, mass participation, sailing and other major events.
