The Sports Partnership has announced the signing of England and Lincoln Ladies football captain, Casey Stoney, for management.

Casey – who has over 100 international caps to her name – led out Team GB in the London 2012 Olympic Games.

After signing for Chelsea Ladies at 12 years old, Casey progressed through the youth ranks at Stamford Bridge, before making the move to North London and Arsenal in 1999.

Casey made her international debut before moving to Charlton Athletic in the summer of 2002 and has played for her country at every age level.

Casey led Charlton through the club’s most successful era, winning three trophies in two years, including two FA Premier League Cup wins in 2004 and 2006, sandwiched by an FA Cup win in 2005.

Following a move back to Chelsea in 2007, Casey had a brief spell as the club’s player-manager in 2009. In March 2010, Casey announced that she was joining rivals Lincoln Ladies.

Casey was part of the squad that reached the Euro 2009 final and played every minute of every game during the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup, where England reached the quarter final. In 2012, Casey was named as the Football Association’s International Player of the Year.

Casey commented: ‘I’m pleased to be joining The Sports Partnership’s impressive team of athletes. Having seen how they’ve worked with other clients, I’m confident that I have the right team to maximize my potential on and off the pitch.’

James Williamson at The Sports Partnership added: ‘We’re delighted to be working with someone of Casey’s stature; her record and dedication to promoting the women’s game is outstanding. With the FAWSL season about to kick off and the European Championships this summer, it’s an exciting time for Casey and women’s football and we’re looking forward to being part of it.’
