The Sports Show has announced the addition of five new partners that will help to deliver over 35 different sports together at the NEC in Birmingham.

The Premier League, The European Tour, EXTREME, Judy Murray’s Miss-Hits and the The British Marine and Royal Yachting Association have all confirmed involvement at the event on the 25th and 26th June.

The Premier League will be bringing the Premier League trophy to the event and young people will also receive a motivational dressing room experience, warm-up and skills coaching from Premier League club coaches and get a real flavour of what the Premier League is all about: passion, fun and enjoying football.

Premier League managing director, Richard Masters, said: “Premier League clubs have a fantastic track record of using the power of football to inspire young people to play sport in communities and schools across the country. The Sports Show provides us with a great platform to replicate this for thousands of young people at one event, and put on fun and engaging activities that get them playing football, and hopefully developing a sporting habit for life.”

The European Tour also committed to the Sports Show with a golf zone, where kids will receive expert PGA tuition including video capture of their swing, a series of challenges from the longest putt, nearest the pin simulation and a bunker challenge. Additionally, ahead of this year’s Ryder Cup at the Hazeltine National Golf Course, the Ryder Cup will also be on show and there will be a 9 hole course for all the family to enjoy.

Tim Hunt, head of marketing for the European Tour added “We are constantly looking at new ways to engage with a sports-interested audience in the UK and our involvement with the Sports Show is something we are very excited about. We will be showcasing some of our own key events coming up later in the year as well as joining forces with the PGA, giving families the chance to try out a range of skills and find out more about getting into golf.”

Judy Murray will be bringing tennis action to the show with her Miss-Hits and Tennis on the Road programmes, supported by the Lawn Tennis Association. Miss-Hits is designed to make tennis more enjoyable for young girls, and provide a fun and interactive environment for girls to be introduced to tennis, using a combination of dance, magic symbols, specialised equipment and music. Tennis on the Road aims to inspire the next generation and give more adults and children the chance to get involved in tennis.

Judy Murray said: “I’m delighted to be bringing my Miss-Hits and Tennis on the Road programmes to the Sports Show to help give families from in and around Birmingham the chance to try tennis. It’s so important to have fun whilst playing any sport and this is the perfect platform to help demonstrate this”.

EXTREME will be bringing live entertainment and putting on have a go sessions with skateboarding, BMX, mountain bike, freestyle Moto-X and slacklining pro’s and athletes. The British Marine and the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) will be at the show encouraging visitors to get on the water.  Show goers can get on The Water Sport Pool and have a go at the latest on water sport Stand Up Paddle Boarding, in addition they will be offered the opportunity to go kayaking and undertake a Blind Boating challenge.
